Stamp Set Showcase
With a new Stampin' Up year starting on the 1st April 08 I thought it would be a good time to start showcasing some of the sets in the new catalogue. I am going to showcase a new stamp set or assessory each month. The first set I am going to show case is Carte Postale. Check back next week to see some sample using this beautiful set.
Here are a couple of cards I made over the easter break. I am getting a nice stock of cards made so I won't get caught short. The first card was inspired by a gorgeous shaker card that my upline jacque pederson designed.
The colours are cool caribbean, always artichoke and marigold morning. My last chance to use the 2007 in colours. I love the cool caribbean and the marigold morning has really grown on me over the last few months. Stamp sets are friendship blooms and lots of thoughts from sale a bration.
This card I have used the bodacious bouquet stamp set. This is a stamp set that I was not very fond of when I first saw it. Now it is one of my favourite sets. It is such a versatile set, you can do so much with it. Here I have used regal rose and chocolate chip card stock with designer series paper from the summer mini catalogue. I have stamped the stalks in certainly celery then stamps the blossoms in regal rose and cut them out and mounted them up with dimensional. I have put glitter in the centre of the flowers. It is another simple design but I was pleased with how it turned out.
Hi there. Hope everyone had a nice easter. The weather sure was great. We had a lovely relaxing weekend at home. Went to the beach and just hung out. I got started on my convention swaps. I am counting down. I am going to my first Stampin' Up! convention in Brisbane. It is going to be fantastic to have a few days with the girls. I am so looking forward to it. Less than 2 weeks to go now. I am making about 60 swaps and I am highlighting the Faux tile technique. Will show you a sneak peak next week.
Only a few days to go now until the new 2008-2009 Idea book and catalogue come out. 1st April is the beginning of a new Stampin' Up! year. I can not wait to get my hands on some of the great products in there. The new in colours are fantastic and there are some great new assessories as well. Of course it is jam packed with wonderful ideas and stamps sets as well.

Thought I would do a mid week post. My daughter twisted her ankle at school this morning so I got half a day off. So here I am blogging in the middle of day. I can't believe it is almost easter. I am looking forward to a four day weekend. I made these little treats for the girls at stamp class but unfortunately the class was cancelled this week so they will not get them till after easter. I got the design from beate johns blog.
I have used barely banana, certainly celery , chocolate chip and regal rose. I have used the scatter sunshine wheel on the banana cardstock in banana ink. The flower on the front is from the bud basics set which is in the summer mini catalogue. Remember the summer mini is only available till the end of March.
This is such a cute little gift and also very easy to make. I sure I the girls enjoy.

Cupcakes
I brought a cupcake receipe book the other day through premier books. They leave them at your workplace then pick them up a couple of weeks later. I can't wait to have a play. I love making cupcakes as they always taste great and are so easy to make. I brought some really cool cupcake tins and some decorations so I am ready to go. I will post some photos next week. I want to practise the decorating so I can take some to my next stamping meeting. Good luck to me.
Cards for Nieces and Nephews
I thought I would get a head start on making this years card for all of my nieces and nephews. My husband Richard is one of 5 so we have 10 nieces and nephews to make cards for. Here is what I have made. Here is the receipe. Brocade blue card, then layer or whisper white, then another layer of brocade blue stamped with seeing spots, then chocoate chip layer. Have then used the corner rounder to create a scalloped edge on the rose red card stock and have layered on the chocolate. I have used the lion from the wild about you set. This set is perfect for children and with 8 stamps in the set it is great value for $54.95.
The next two card use similar colours and the same stamp set but a different layout . I have used the birthday whimsey from sale a bration. I just can't get enoughof this set. All of the balloons is done with brocade blue card, with layer of black, then layer of certainly celery with striped card at the bottom and blue ribbon.
For this card I used ballet blue card stock with mellow moss layer and striped paper. I stamped the birthday cake in ballet blue and the happy birthday and the and many more in mellow moss.
New Catalogue
I can't believe it is now less than a month until the new catalogue comes out. We are all really looking forward to seeing it as a lot of stamp sets and accessories have retired so lots and lots of new products. Can't wait. Remember to check out the Stampin' Up! website for a list of the retired sets. They are going quickly.
Also there are only a few weeks left for ordering out of the summer mini catalogue. It finishes at the end of this month.

Finally another post.
Well I have finally got around to doing another post, so much for good intentions of posting every week, although I do have some good excuses. We have gone through 2 monitors in the last few weeks and of couse the constant battle with my husband and son for computer time. I really do need to work on getting my own computer but I will have to wait a few months for that as other things take priority such as going to Brisbane in April.
Although I haven't posted I have been busy creating. I have quite a few birthdays coming up so thought I would get a head start. I have had a great time playing with the Sale a bration sets especially Birthday whimsey which I can see is going to become a favourite. The only probem I had was getting away from using pink/chocolate as they look great with loves me designer paper from the summer mini catalogue. Here are three cards I made using a combination of pink/ chocolate and the loves me designer paper. The pink used is regal rose. The card on the left with the pink birthday I cased from Ailsa Tilsner's blog I loved the colours and the use of the patterned paper and the layout.
This card is one I made for my friend Sara a fellow demonstrator. Her birthday was a wee while ago but as I haven't done a post in ages I hadn't put it on. I wanted to have a play with the Time well spent stamp set. This is a set which will be in the 2008/2009 catalogue as a level 3 hostess set. All demonstrators were given this set as a gift last year. As with the above set the pink/chocolate theme is going on. I used chocolate card, with pretty pink layer. Then stamped in whisper white. The happy joyful birthday is from the small sayings stamp set which is in the summer mini catalogue.
The next card is a sneak peak at my swap card for my montly meeting. We have not got together for a few months so it will be good to catch up. Every month we do a swap based on a particular theme this time the theme is using the Time well spent stamp set. As I have a particular fondness for chocolate chip and any of the pinks I made a real effort to keep away from them. I have used marigold morning one of the 07 incolors which is a colour I have not used a lot and of course now that it has grown on me will no be april to get it after April. Oh well thems the breaks. The colours I have used for this card are rose red,old olive, marigold morning. Stamp sets are time well spent and small sayings.
I am looking forward to receiving swaps as we all have such different styles and it is great to see all the different ideas. Well I am going to finish there tonight. Karen you will be proud of me, I did my post like I said I would. Although I really think I need a tutorial from you as I had great trouble getting the photos in the right place. My darling husband has been very patient with me as I had to call him down every so often to help me out. As I told him once I figure it all out I will be fine. Hope to do some more posting 2morow.
