Another Friday

Happy Friday. Gosh it has been a week since I last posted. This week has flown by. I am glad it's Friday. Our team the creative inkers are getting together tomorrow morning for a team meeting and swap. It's been a while since we all got together, so it will be good to catch up with the girls. This theme for this swap was children's cards which was great for me because that's all I have been making over the last few weeks. This is what I made for the swap.

This swap I decided to go for nice and simple. I just love the so swirly wheel.

The next card I have to show today is super girly, very pink and pretty. It is a card my daughter would have loved when she was in her pink stage.

More childrens cards

Happy Friday. I have another round of childrens cards tonight. I have been having fun making nice simple cards. I seem to be making a lot of boy cards so will have to try for some girly ones with lots of pink and glitter. Our team the creative inkers are doing childrens cards for our swap this month so I am will have to think up something special for that.

My first two cards tonight use lots of bright colours and of course the eat cake set. Its just perfect for a child's card.

I was really please with how the next two cards turned out. I haven't used wild about you for a while and I have often used it for baby cards. This time I decided to go outside my comfort zone, almost all of the colours are from earth elements. What do you think?

Entry for NZSU blog June challenge

The following card is my entry for the June challenge at the NZSU blog. This months challenge is to make a masculine card for a male aged 16 years or older. This is what I have come up with. Whenever I make a card for a male I always make it very simple and understated. I love this years in colors and thought they would be ideal to use for this challenge.

We took these photos of Caitlin the day she lost her first tooth. She was so excited as the tooth fairy was going to visit for the first time. The only thing she was a bit vary of was the tooth fairy going into her room, so we had to leave the tooth in the kitchen. The tooth fairy came and was very understanding about not going into Caitlin's room. She left a nice coin on the kitchen bench. I have used the flowers out of the pretties kit on this page and have coloured them using sponge daubers and ink.

I just found out how to change the colour in my blog writer soI just had to have a play, Yeah something new I can do.

This next page is one of Caitlin when is was around 3 mths old. My husband called her his michelin girl because she was so round. She was a very happy, smiley little baby when she was at home with Mum, Dad and James but she was very shy around other people. I love these photos, but I did have trouble trying to figure out what colours to use because of the bright green in the background. I decided to matt the photos in barely banana then used the colour coach to get the other colours.

Scrapbook pages - a first

Happy Thursday. Hope you have all had a good week. It seems like I haven't posted in ages, I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms LOL. I had a great time at the Dunkleys craft show last weekend with the girls from creative inkers (our stampin' up group). It is always great to spend time with the girls. Its sometimes hard to get together what with work and family committents. Hello to all the lovely ladies we met. I hope you enjoyed yourselves. I am still contacting people from the show, so if I haven't contacted you yet. I will be in touch in the next few days.

The scrapbook pages I am posting today are one that were displayed at the show. I don't do as much scrapbooking as I would like so, it was great to spend some time scrapbooking. This first page I have also submitted to Trudi at the NZSU blog as they are featuring masculine cards and pages this month. I love these photos of James. He just loves the beach and loves on the boogey board. We moved up to the North Shore of Auckland from Christchurch a couple of years ago and both James and Caitlin just adore summer and being able to spend so much time at the beach.

The next page is of James when he was around 14 months old. We lived in Niue until James was just on 3 yrs old. He was a very busy little boy. Always helping out. He was very tidy back then, he liked nothing better than to help out with the vacuuming or doing the gardening. These photos bring back very fond memories of the great time we had living in Niue.

My new punch stand

The last thing I wanted to share with you tonight is a picture of the new punch stand that my darling husband made for me. This is quite a big deal, as it normally takes him quite a while to complete a project which involves power tools. I am very proud of him as he made this over 2 weekends for me. I showed him a picture of the punch stand that Marelle Taylor's husband had made for her and I am very happy with what he came up with.

Isn't it great. All my punches fit perfectly and it sits against the wall where my desk is, within easy reach. I have taken some photos of my craft area and will try and post in the next few days. First June children's card show case

Happy Friday. Hope you have all had a good week. Sorry for the lack of activity on my blog this week. It has been one of those weeks. This weekend I am at the Dunkleys craft show on the north shore, so come by and say hello. Here is the first installment of children's cards for my June showcase.

What with having two children who get invited to their fair share of parties and also having 10 nieces and nephews, I always need to have a child's birthday card on hand. The first card is taken from one that I made at card class.
