Caitlin's Birthday card

It is my daughter Caitlin's 8th birthday tomorrow. And Caitlin being Caitlin, she told me exactly what colours she wanted me to use for her card. She was very specific about not using pink, which is very difficult for me with pink being one of my favourite colours. But I have pandered to her and used the colour combination she requested but I think I have still kept it quite girly. I was quite happy with how the card turned out. I hope she likes it.

Supplies

Stamp set: Eat cake

Card/ink: bashful blue, gable green, lovely lilac

Access: Punches, markers, brads, ribbons

Well I better be off now. I have spent a good part of the day playing around with this new blog writer, still a few glitches to sort out, but not to bad. Karen you will be impressed. I have done these last three blogs without any help. I now have to go and wrap a few presents and tidy up my craft room. I can't believe how much mess I have made over the last couple of days now I can't find anything.

Workshop Projects

Thought I would put a couple of the projects I am doing for a workshop on Sunday. The group of ladies are mostly new to stamping so have done simple projects. Here is a sample.

This project is a simple bagalope. I have used a c6 sized white envelope and used a jumbo wheel over the front and back of each side. I have scored 1/2 inch on 3 sides.

Supplies

Stamp Set: Bodacious bouquet, petal jumbo wheel

Car/Ink: White envelope, whisper white, so saffron, pretty in pink, barely banana, certainly celery.

Access: White ribbon, brads in soft subtles, corner punch to do scallop on top.

For these next two cards I have used the wheel again. I have stuck to two colours with only one layer. I got the idea for this layout from my upline Jacque s blog. This layout can be used for any situation with different colours and accessories.

Supplies

Stamp Set: Scatter Sunshine Junbo wheel, time well spent.

Card/Ink: Whisper white, certainly cerlery.

I hope the ladies at the workshop like it.

Now to test this new blog writer with images.

My 1st Stamping Galore Challenge

Hi everyone

I was talking to the girls last night at stamp class and suggested doing a challenge. Well since I suggessted it I have come up with the first challenge. I have decided to do a colour Inspiration challenge . I found this photo in a habitat magazine and thought it was an interesting colour combination. Not one I would think of using.

I have converted the colours to stampin' Up colours and they are:

Groovy Guava

Gable Green

Brocade Blue

Anyone can participate in the colour inspiration challenge, the more the merrier. All you need to do is make a card/scrapbook page using this colour combination and email it to me at stampinggalore@gmail.com by Sunday 3 May 2008. Remember to put all of your details on your entry for voting.

It will be great to see what everyone comes up with. All entries will be posted on my blog on Monday 4 May. Voting will be from Tuesday 5 May to Thursday 7 May. The winner will be announced on Friday 8 May. The winner of the challenge gets to select the next challenge. If you do not have a blog I can host the challenge on your behalf.

I look forward to receiving your entries.

Mothers Day is coming Sunday 11 May

Mothers day is fast approaching. I have already put in my request with the kids and my dh. I have asked for a cropodile. My husband is always giving me a hard time about all the noise coming form the rumpus room so I have come up with the perfect solution for him and a great mothers day gift for me, a cropodile. I have a couple of gift ideas that are perfect for mothers day especially for the grandmas. A cropodile would have made one of these gifts a lot easer to make. I can not take credit for the ideas for either of these gifts. Original were from my fabulously talented upline Jacque.

This little note book is the perfect gift for any occasion. I have also used the carte postale stamp set which works very well.

Supplies:
stamp set: carte postale
Card/Ink: Whisper white, bashful blue, very vanilla
Access: punches, ribbon, brads, board, notepad from two dollar shop or the warehouse, tacky tape

The next wee gift could be made into several things. I have made a calendar and a wee gift album. You could also use as an address book or a receipe holder. You are only limited to your imagination. The photos are of my children James and Caitlin. They are very old though as James has just turned 10 and Caitlin is about to turn 8.

As you can see I have made a calendar and a little album. The rings to hold it together are from the two dollar shop. The pages are made from chipboard coasters covered in designer series paper. The back page is attached to card double layered and folded into a triangle to make a stand. The calendar was printed off the internet.

Convention 2008

Well I have just arrived back from Brisbane after spending 4 days on holiday with the family on the Gold Coast. We had a wonderful time swimming at the beach and in the pool and visiting Wet N Wild and Movie world. My son is an adrenaline junkie and couldn't get enough of the rides. My daughter and I on the other hand preferred the more subdued rides. A good time was had by all.

The first 3 days I spent at my first ever Stampin' Up! Convention. The theme for this years convention was dream big. I certainly came away with some big ideas. What an inspirational 3 days I had. I met some great demonstrators from Australia and got to spend time with my upline Jacque and some of my crosslines Rachael, Sara, Anabel and Pauline. We had a great time.

Jacque placed 2nd in New Zealand demonstrator of the year. We were all so proud of her. She has worked very hard. I feel so fortunate to have Jacque as my upline as she is so supportive and very very talented.

Here are a couple of photos of my completed swaps. I decided to do the faux tiling technique and I was very happy with how they turned out. Hope you like them.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Bodacious Bouquet
Card/Ink: Pink Passion, Lavender Lace, So Saffron, Gable Green
Access: White ribbon, white gel pen, versmark, clear embossing powder
